My County Parks

Challenge

My County Parks needed a website that was not only captivating but also made it simple for visitors to be informed about their county facilities. They wanted to greet visitors with the landscapes of Iowa, while simultaneously showcasing opportunities to visit a park in one of the ninety-nine counties. This included streamlining the process to reserve cabins, campsites, and shelters. It was also important to allow each county to individually maintain and update their own sections of the website.

Solution

The new homepage developed by Informatics welcomes visitors with large, scenic, rotating images of Iowa’s landscape behind user-friendly options to reserve facilities online. This covers the ability to search dates, highlight featured sites, filter through all cabins, campsites, and shelters, as well as search by individual county. My County Parks’ website also allows each county to run its own subpage, which gives more control over adding and removing specific information about the area or future events.
